We're in the process of adding a guide to the main resort areas of Turkey. These guides are all written by people who live there or holiday and know the areas well.
If you've never been to Turkey before the guide should give you an idea of what to expect when looking for your dream holiday.
The pictures on the right will take you to the relevant
areas and are currently being added to.
Holidaying in Turkey
Turkey can offer just about anything a
holiday maker could want, whether the 5 star luxury hotel, the self
catering holiday or backpackers.
If golf is your idea of a dream holiday you'll find
some impressive courses and resorts. For the sailor, bring your own or
hire a yacht, take a gullet trip, a rowing boat or a speed boat.
Paraglide, scuba dive, fish or swim.
If history is your love you'll find the country
steeped in it from one end to the other. You'll need several trips if
you want to take it all in.
Natural history and nature abounds throughout
Turkey and is a fantastic country for walks, treks, whether on horse,
donkey bike or jeep. Maybe you'd rather take a raft down some rapids, no
problem, it's all here.
There are many blue flag beaches across the coast
of Turkey with crystal clear waters that are warm year round, ideal for
lazy days on the beach. Or maybe you'd like a family attraction with
water slides, pools and bags of fun, never fear, that too is here.
How about a painting holiday? Artists and budding
artists are catered for, you can even take a course in glass blowing and
glass painting, or maybe you'd like a week of yoga, it's all
here and all possible.
No trip to Turkey would be complete without a
Turkish bath. You can have one just about anywhere but why not try a
thermal springs holiday for total health and well being?
Shopping is a dream. Barter your bargains down and
return home with suitcases full of designer gear, inexpensive but
quality jewellery, crystal at a fraction of the European price.
Dining. Sure you can get your kebabs, but you can
also fill up on more traditional village fayre, European restaurants,
fresh barbequeued fish hauled in that day, snack on gozleme or pides,
You must visit the local markets and sample the fruits.
As well as the more traditional holiday resorts
information on the not so traditional can be found in the forums.
Currently there is information on Ephesus, Cappadocia, Pammukale,
Ankara, Istanbul,
Trabzon and Van with other locations being added.
If you keep your eyes on the forum you'll hear about special
deals on flights and holidays, did you know you can return
with British Airways for as little as £90? Through the
season it's possible to pick up late package deals from as
little as £70 per person and forum members are happy to
share that information with you.
Have a look at the area information to find your
ideal location, or have a peek at the gallery to see what Turkey has to
offer you.
