Districts : Cesme, Selcuk, Foca
Cesme

Cesme (pronounced Cheshmay) offers
excellent beaches of clear water as well as healing mineral
springs. It's found on the very top of the peninsular
bearing it's name.
Like most parts of Turkey Cesme boasts it's own
historical past with The Erythrai Ancient City excavated in
Çesme-Ildiri, the Castle, Caravanserai and many fountains from the
Ottoman Period. The city centre affords a view of the Acropolis.
Cesme benefits from a Mediterranean climate as
well as being exposed to Northerly winds.
Selcuk

Selcuk, (pronounced Sellchuck), south of Izmir
on the South Aegean has become the base for visits to Ephesus a few
kilometres away.
It's seeped in early Christian history and is
believed to hold the house where the Virgin Mary visited, as well as
the setting for the writing of the gospel of St John on Ayasoluk
Hill.
The town offers many hotels, bars and
restaurants and is an ideal location for those wishing to explore
their Christian roots. The climate of
Selcuk is that typical of the Mediterranean.
Foca
Foca, (pronounced Focha) holds a
great deal of importance amongst the 12 Ion cities. As well as it's
historic and archeological importance, Foca is a mythalogical
settlement mentioned in Homers epic.
You can expect a Mediterranean
climate in Foca.
Remember, you can find a great deal of
information on the forums about the areas from people already living
there and holidaymakers.
